This is one of my family's favorite meals. We make it at least once a week. It's great with some tortilla chips and cheese or corn bread. Definitely worth a try. Also its great for entertaining. - 1/10/08

I used black beans instead of kidney and 2 cans of stewed tomatoes - 10/29/09

My husband and I both loved this recipe!
We made a veggie version, with the morningstar burger crumbles. I also did a "home-made" taco seasoning mix, rather than use the packet mixes they sell at the grocery store.

Thanks for sharing this one! - 7/19/10

Mmm-mmm! I made this on the stove top as opposed to crock pot. Small changes for our tastes: used only two cans of beans (pinto and kidney) that were rinsed, substituted tomato sauce for diced tomatoes. Added a touch of water and additional chili seasoning. Hubby gave it an 8 out of 10! - 2/4/08

Very good... we added one or two crushed tortilla chips on top for a nice crunch. - 3/2/11

I loved it, but I think I used too much chili powder in my taco seasoning. My roommate are discussing trying it with one more can of corn, some red peppers and one less can of beans to give it a more southwestern flair. - 7/22/10

This was a great recipe that my family enjoyed. I added cayenne pepper and white pepper to spice it up a bit. Definitely will make it again. - 2/13/08

Thought it was salty even though I used low salt tomatos and corn. I would use home made taco seasoning next time without salt. - 1/12/08

I used no sodium added beans to keep the salt level down. Very tasty, and as another person noted we added a few crunched up multi grain tostitos, salsa and fat free sour cream for garnish. - 12/19/07

Super yummy, I'll be making more this weekend! I used 93% fat free turkey and it was fine. I also used Rotel tomatoes and that added a welcome kick! Served over a couple of crunched up whole wheat tostitos with a teeny bit of cheese on top. A new FAVE! - 12/12/07

This looks delicious but the sodium content needs to be worked on. I may try it using no salt added beans and tomatoes and taco seasoning. - 4/20/21

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I have tried one that was very similar to this one and it was very good. I will try this and compare to two. - 11/4/19

My hubby and I really enjoyed this. I used Rotel instead of diced tomatoes. Also, after dishing it up I mixed Greek yogurt and some shredded cheese in, and dipped some tortilla chips in. Yum. - 1/9/18
