Ingredients
Directions
1 lb Organic Ground Beef1 cup Celery diced1 tsp Ground Ginger0.12 tsp (pinch) Saffron1 Tbsp Soy Sauce4 oz (0.25 cup) Water1 Small Hot Pepper3 cloves Garlic, crushed1/2 cup Onions, diced
Brown the ground beef first and then remove from pan. Use the fat rendered from the beef to brown garlic and onion. Then add other ingredients, including the browned ground beef, back into the pan and cook for another 20 minutes.
When our college son comes home, we prepare this without the onions because he doesn't like onions. You can also use dried crushed red pepper flakes in place of the fresh hot red pepper.
We like to make this a day or two ahead so it can sit and develop the flavors.
We serve this over brown rice.
Makes 4 servings or 1 serving for college age son.
