Ingredients
1/8 cup brown sugar1/4 tsp. cinnamon1/8 tsp. salt3/4 cup Quaker oats3/4 cup milk3/4 cup water
Directions
Instructions:
Leave the water and milk on the oven at low-heat, so the milk doesn't burn. Then combine all the ingredients in the cereal bowl you'll be using to eat. By the time you're done the milk+water will be starting to boil (don't leave it to bubble for long though, go on to the next step right away!). That's when you dump all the ingredients in, stir for a minute, and switch off the stove. Leave it to cool for a few minutes, the oatmeal will soak up excess liquid then too.

Extras:
I like to mix original oats with quick-cooking white oats. It gives a nice texture. Quick-cooking is a bit mushier, so when half of the oats are the original kind, it's great. You can adjust towards one or the other, according to your taste.

You can also cook it in 1.5 cups of milk, or 1.5 cups of water, instead of splitting it into 3/4 of each. Milk gives it more flavor, and it's richer. Water gives it a more basic, lighter taste.

f you want to go all-out, you can add any of the following list to the dry ingredients. They're all pretty good, depending on your mood (just add them to the nutrition/calorie calculator to be accurate).
- chopped walnuts
- sprinkle in some cereal (a grain, nut, fruit type, to add a little crunch and different texture)
- chocolate chips for a treat-like oatmeal
- raisins
- more cinnamon or sugar to sweeten it up a notch
- 1 tablespoon butter

Serving Size:
I put the servings as 2, because I have it as a late-night snack. But really it's good as one serving. So I left the initial serving size, for people who'd eat this for breakfast/light dinner. Otherwise, halve it, stick it in the fridge, and have it the next day. I just halve the recipe, unless I'm cooking for two.
