YessireeBob! The only thing I did different is 1) withhold some of the beans before light mash, because we like to have something to press between our teeth. Just our preference. 2) we like adding cumin, cayenne pepper, &c., for our beans. Thank you!!! - 6/14/21

It looks good. I wasn't sure if the beans in the crock pot had been pre-soaked prior to the 4-5 hours on high, or if 4-5 hours on high in crock pot was sufficient for washed and sorted beans right out of the bag. I like the recipe. I might try to add "J&D's" brand bacon salt (which is low sodium) - 12/5/12

First time for DH and I to eat these these.
I made eggs just in case we did not like them but we did. DH had he bacon and I had no egg. It was filling, now I will look ino flavouring the leftovers.
    Thanks - 5/18/12

Thanks for the recipe, I've been making it completely wrong! This will be much simpler, I make it vegan and save on the calories/fat by using Chipotle, it gives it that smoky flavor. Chipotle tabasco is even better :) - 5/2/10

My favorite way to eat pinto beans, with bacon grease. but lately because I'm on weight watchers I use olive oil. - 5/28/09
