Easy to make, great taste! (So good even the kids ate it!) Will most likely become a family favorite.

    Thank you Chef Meg :) - 8/5/09

We had this for dinner tonight and it was a keeper! Everybody loved it...didn't even get any complaints about the low sodium content. I made the crust using a whole wheat thin crust dough recipe on this site and it turned out great. Will definitely be making this again! - 8/3/09

I switched it up a bit, used tofu, increased spice slightly, used Trader Joe's Whole Wheat Pizza Dough, and 2% cheese and skim Mozzarella [1/2 & 1/2]. It was Yummy, and a hit in the house! - 9/13/09

KRZYKAT3: You can eliminate much of the sodium by using a homemade salsa instead of the jarred variety. - 8/5/09

Thank you for this recipe! I can't believe how much food this was. I baked as pizza because I had trouble getting dough rolled out. Added shredded lettuce after baking. - 9/5/09

OMG - I Loved it! I didn't have Chili Powder, so I used Mrs. Dash Southwestern seasoning instead...it was still great! - 9/22/09

A person won't die from eating a higher sodium recipe now and then folks!! It’s ok, not enough for a meal for some. It is better with ground beef. - 9/13/09

The sodium comes from the cheese, find low sodium;works well with shredded pork, beef, chicken and make own salsa to reduce sodium too. - 9/29/09

I used veggie crumbles instead of the ground meat, and used egg beater instead of egg. Got whole wheat dough from Trader Joe's. Turned out great except had to cook a little longer to get the dough cooked through. - 9/17/09

Delicious! I made my own dough, added corn and sprinkled the top with garlic pepper and parsley flakes. Turned out perfectly! - 9/29/09

Very tasty! I had to count up the calories of the ingredients for myself because I couldn't believe something this good and filling could be low calorie. I agree with leaving out the cheese, though... it melted so much it kind of disappeared. But I didn't miss it. It was great! - 8/28/09

I made this for my husband and a few friends, none of whom are watching what they eat. They absolutely loved it and my friend's husband was surprised when he asked where I'd found the recipe. The guys insisted that I leave a comment and rating. This is a definite do-again meal. Sweet! - 3/24/10

You could also cut some of the fat & calories by using low-fat cheese. I'd add more veggies to increase the fiber, maybe replace some of the turkey with black beans to cut more calorie. - 8/19/09

Nobody complained about eating ground turkey instead of ground beef. It was a little too high in sodium for our tastes. - 8/31/09

great flavor - tastes like "real food" ;-)
next time I need to make sure I get the lean turkey and some lower sodium salsa - 8/15/09

I'll head to Trader Joe's to get the whole wheat pizza dough for next time. This time I improvised by using bisquick dough. this makes it less healthy and higher calories. The result was like a Cornish pasty. YUM. I also used 2% cheese. I couldn't taste the cheese so I will omit next time. - 9/27/09

I made this last week and my DH and I both loved it. I used the leftovers as wraps in flour tortillas. Great. - 9/22/09

I've made these a few times now ~ different variations and they're great!! No need to buy take-out anymore!! They are more like panzarotti (if that's how you spell it!). - 9/22/09

My family loved this recipe - and with the egg white brushed on top, my calzones turned out as prettily as Chef Meg's! There wasn't much taste of cheese - so I might leave it out altogether next time. A very nice Friday meal!! - 8/21/09
