1lb extra lean ground chicken1 lb lean turkey italian sausage (mild or Hot)2 (28oz) cans of tomatoes2 (14oz) cans of red kidney beans1 onion choped1 red or green pepper chopped2.5 cups chopped celery1 clove garlic2 tbsp chili powder1 tsp ground cumin1 tsp oregano leaf1 bay leafsalt and pepper to taste
brown chicken and sausage. drain. saute vegetables until tender, add garlic and a little water, chicken stock or wine to deglaze pan. return meat to pan and add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours
Note: recipe can be halved using only ground chicken or ground turkey.

i'm glad you enjoyed it. It is one of my families favorite recipes and one that i bring alot to potlucks and it is always scooped up
