Ingredients
Directions
1 Tbsp olive oil1 cup onion, chopped5 1/2 oz extra lean ground beef (4% fat)9 oz ground turkey breastCajun seasoning, to tasteAncho chile powder, to taste1 cup corn kernels, thawed if frozen1/2 cup tomato sauce1/4 cup barbeque sauce1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce2 Tbsp catsup6 whole wheat hamburger buns
Heat oil in saute pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender, about 3 minutes. Add beef and turkey, stirring to crumble. While the meat browns, sprinkle with your favorite seasoning (I used cajun seasoning and ancho chile powder, both added a nice smokiness and a little kick without a lot of heat). Stir in corn. Once meat is brown, but not cooked through, add tomato sauce, barbeque sauce, worchestershire sauce, and catsup. Bring to a boil; lower heat, and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Serve over whole wheat buns. Serves 6.
