Flapjacks

Ingredients
70g unsalted butter2 tbsp golden syrup70g light muscovado (or brown) sugar140g oats
Directions
Preheat the oven to 170 C/325 F. Melt together the butter, golden syrup and sugar, very gently. Pour them over the oats in a bowl and mix together until everything is stickily combined. Press the mixture into a greased 18 x 28cm/ 7 x 11in shallow baking tin and bake for 15 - 20 mins until golden and set. Cool and then cut into squares. They will only harden as they cool so be patient!

    Yummy, will be great with coffee. Makes a small batch so I won't eat too many! I used corn syrup and would like to try it with maple syrup or honey next time. Also I will try this recipe with 1/4 tsp of allspice as the flapjacks I had in England used allspice and were delicious. - 8/6/11
