Pasta Carbonara

Ingredients

1/4lb whole wheat spaghetti1/2 cup chopped red onion1/4 cup baby bella mushrooms1/2 oz pancetta1 large egg2 tbsp pasta water (from boiled pasta)1 tsp diced garlic1 tbsp black pepper1/2 tsp garlic salt1/3 cup parmesan cheese finely grated
1. Boil the pasta for 7-8 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Saute/fry the pancetta
3. Mix in the onions and mushrooms and sautee 2 min or until onions and mushrooms are cooked almost all the way through. Turn off heat and remove pan from heat,
4. Add the pasta to the pan with the pancetta, onion, and mushrooms with the little bit of pasta water
5. Whisk the egg white only set yolk aside) with the cheese, pepper, and garlic salt.
6. Add whisked mixture on top of pasta and toss until coated.
7. Plate the pasta
8. Put the egg yolk on top of the plated pasta and mix in until evenly covering all noodles.
9. Serve and enjoy!
