Slow cooker Black bean chili with chicken

Ingredients
1 pound black beans, soaked overnight1 bay leaf1.5 T chili powder1 T cumin2 t paprika1/2 t cayenne1 t oregano1 T oil1 onion, chopped1 bell pepper, chopped4 cloves garlic, chopped1 T chipotle chili in adobo14 oz chopped tomatoes1 t salt2 lb chicken breasts, chopped in 1 inch pieces1 T oilpaprikagarlic powder
Directions
Cook black beans with bay leaf and chili powder in slow cooker on HIGH for 2.5-3 hours. Toast cumin seeds, paprika, cayenne, and oregano in skillet 2 minutes. Grind in spice grinder. Saute onion, pepper, garlic together 5 minutes. Add to cooker with chipotles. Cover and cook on LOW 8-9 hours. Cook chicken in oil until brown. Add paprika, garlic powder, tomatoes and salt, and then add mixture to slow cooker. Cook on LOW 1-2 more hours.
