Squash Patties

Ingredients
1 egg, beaten1 tbsp. sugar1/2 tsp. saltDash of pepper2 tbsp. milk2 tbsp. finely chopped onion1 cup cooked, mashed squash1/2 cup self-rising flour"hot salad oil" (I used 3 tbsp canola in the nutritional)
Directions
Combine all ingredients except oil; mix well. Drop mixture by tablesppons into 1/8 inch hot oil in a large skillet. Flatten patties to 1/4-inch thickness. Cook to golden brown; turn and brown on other side. Yields 14 patties.
