Directions
Tomato Sauce, 1 Can (14.5-15 oz.) Full Circle OrganicDiced Tomatoes with onions, celery and green peppers, 1 Can (14.5-15 oz.) Spartan BrandBacon, 1 unit, cooked (yield from 1 lb raw (one package)*Jennie-O Lean turkey Kielbasa, 16 oz (one package) or 1 lb. regular KielbasaBeans, navy, 2 cup (1 pound) or Two Cans Beans rinsed and drained2-4 cups of waterOptional extra onions to tasteOptional Bay leaf
If using dry beans Let the beans soak for 8-12 hours. Drain and rinse, then return to the pot and add another 2-4 cups of water (enough to cover the beans) and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes. Cook the bacon in the oven on 350 for 15-20 minutes - set aside and drain fat. Cut up the kielbasa (of course you can use the real thing just cook it first) then add to the pot with 1 can each of tomato sauce and diced or stewed tomatoes. I used diced tomatoes with onions, celery, green peppers. Add any additional ingredients like extra onions and bay leaf. Let that cook for another 10-20 minutes. I suspect this is one of those dishes that is better if left to set overnight so the flavors really blend (both times I served it that way reheated).
