Indian Chickpeas and Brown Rice

Ingredients
2 (15.5 oz.) cans of Chickpeas (Garbanzo beans) undrained, 2 (14.5 oz.) can diced tomatoes undrained, 2 C water, 1 C uncooked brown rice, 1/2 of a medium onion diced, 1t garlic powder, 2t tumeric, 1t salt, 1t ginger powder (or 2t diced fresh ginger root, or 2t ginger paste), 3t cumin, 1t ground black pepper, 2 bay leaves
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low for four hours or on high for around eight hours (or until rice and beans are at desired degree of tenderness).

Will yeild about seven one-cup servings.

    Did you mean on high for four and low for 8 ? Seems if you cook for 8 on high it will be way overcooked. Just wondering. - 11/17/13
