banana peach tea bread

8 tbsp unsalted softened butter2 cups unbleached white whole wheat all purpose flour1 tsp salt1 1/2 tsp baking powder1 cup sugar (can also use agave, honey, or a mixture of these)2 eggs2 very ripe bananas2 very ripe peaches or nectarines2 Tbsp fresh orange juice
makes 8 generous slices or 10 thinner slices for a modest breakfast bread!
preheat to 350. mix dry ingredients and set aside. put peaches in a blender and pulse until well mashed. add bananas and orange juice. in a medium bowl, cream the butter. beat in eggs one at a time and then stir in the fruit mixture. gently stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. don�t over mix. pour batter into a greased, medium-sized loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes. a toothpick will come out clean when the bread is done.
some welcome additions to this bread:
sliced coconut, minced dried fruits (apricots or cranberries would be amazing), blueberries or nuts - and, if you're feeling a little more decadent, a cream cheese frosting.
