Ingredients
2 cups sifted Flour3 tsp baking powder1 Tbsp sugar1/2 tsp salt3 eggs, separated1 1/2 cups milk5 Tbsp melted shortening
Directions
Mix and sift dry ingredients. Combine beaten egg yolks, milk and shortening; add to dry ingredients, beating until smooth. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour batter into each section of hot waffle iron. Cook waffles until crispy and browned. Serves 8 waffles.
