Ingredients
Directions
8 cups soy milk1/2 cup yogurt (soy) or 1/4 tsp probiotic6 tsp guar gum
Cook milk on low in a slow cooker for 2.5 hours
Turn off slow cooker (and unplug) and allow to cool for 3 hours
Take out 2 cups of milk and stir it with the yogurt of probiotics.
Return it to the rest of the milk.
Wrap a heavy towel around it and leave it over night.
In the am you can thicken the yogurt with guar gum. I tried this recipe the first time with tapioca starch and it didn't work very well. The guar gum did!
I like to take batches of this with my magic bullet and some fruit and make my own yogurt multi flavour pack!
1 Serving = 1 C.

I'm making this recipe as we speak...I heated the yogurt on the stove.cooled it to 110 in a sink of cold water and then put it in a slow cooker preheated to low and then shut it off...I used agar agar for thickener since the recipe I"d seen called for unflavored gelatin and agar agar is like that. - 5/2/12

The milk has to be the right temperature, 112 - 115 degrees (use a thermometer). Cooking is not neccessary. I make mine by heating the soy milk on the stove and letting it mix with the yogurt in a thermos wrapped in towels for 8 - 12 hours. Mine comes out on the thin side since I don't thicken it. - 2/26/11

The yogurt turned out pretty good except for the clear yellow liquid that was dispersed thru it. I added the guar gum to thickened it. The yogurt part thickened pretty well but the yellow liquid part sort of formed lumps. Is there any way to dissolve the guar gum before adding it to the yogurt? - 11/2/10

I tried this recipe but it did not work I will have to try adding the guar gum. My recipe was runny but stringy if you know what I mean. It tasted OK and i went by the recipe. I did it through the night and the house cools off Maybe not enough heat? - 3/1/10

If it has the sour taste that it worked and just needs to be thickened. The guar gum was the way to go for me :) Hope this helps!
