Ingredients
*Tony Chachere's Instant Roux Mix, 12 tsp Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Scallions, raw, 1 cup, choppedGarlic, 2 clove *Hunts 100% Natural No Salt Added Tomato Paste, 8 tbsp *Lemon Juice, 1 lemon yields Shrimp, raw, 14 oz Bay Leaf, 1 tbsp, crumbled Tabasco Sauce, 1 tsp White Rice, short grain, 2 cup Water, tap, 3 cup (8 fl oz)
Directions
add onions, garlic, and tomato paste to roux
add water slowly stirring to be sure of smoothnes
add sugar, salt, pepper, bay leaf, tabasco, and lemon juice
simmer 1 hr
add shrimp simmer 20 minutes or until shrimp are cooked
add more water if necessary
serve over short grain white rice
