Baking Powder Biscuits with Flax by Jen

1 1/2 Cups Flour1/2 Cup Ground Golden Flax Seed1 TBSP baking powder1 TBSP sugar1 tsp salt1 stick Earth Balance Natural Shortening (7 TBSP per stick)3/4 Cup of Milk (1%)
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Mix Dry Ingredients. Cut in the shortening using a pastry blender until the crumbs are pea sized. (You can also use a fork.) Add the milk and mix thoroughly with fork.
Turn over dough onto lightly floured surface and knead by hand about 10 times. Add more flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking. Don't over flour, texture will be tacky.
Press dough out with your hands. Dough should be about 1/2 inch thick. Cut out with a biscuit cutter.
Bake 10-12 minutes
