  • Number of Servings: 12
Ingredients
I halved the original recipe above but here is the original with more understandable measurements.4 lbs ground beef1 cup chopped onion1 cup chopped green pepper1 can (28 oz) tomato sauce2 cans (10 3/4 oz) condensed tomato soup, undiluted1 cup packed brown sugar1/4 cup ketchup3 T Worcestershire sauce1 T dry mustard1 T prepared mustard1 1/2 tsp chili powder1 tsp garlic powder
Directions
1. Cook beef in large skillet over med-high heat until no longer pink, stirring to break up mean. Drain fat. Add onion and green pepper and cook, stirring frequently, 5 to 10 minutes or until onion becomes translucent and mixture becomes fragrant.

2. Transfer meat mixture to slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients; stir well to combine.

3. Cover; cook on LOW 4 to 6 hours.

Makes 20-25 servings--I usually measure about 1/2 cup servings as the original recipe does NOT specify how much in a serving.

It is really good. One note, the 12 servings is the halved amount. The original with the posted measurements are the 20-25 servings. If you do make that much, it freezes really well. I just don't want any confusion. Next time I'll double check ALL of it before I share, LOL

Outstanding! I used ground turkey, halved it and simmered it on the stove because I wasn't smart enough to start it before I left. It still didn't take that long at all:) - 5/29/10

I made this recipe last night and it was delicious. I cut the recipe in half and put it in the crockpot on high for 3 1/2 hours. I also used ground turkey instead of ground beef. The flavor and texture were just right. Thanks for sharing. - 5/13/10
