Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients
2 cups sifted flour2 tsp sugar4 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp cream of tartar1/2 tsp salt1/2 cup shortening2/3 cup milk
Directions
Sift all dry ingredients into a bowl. Cut shortening in until mixture resembles meal. Stir in milk just until flour disappears.

Roll dough out to 1/2" thickness and cut into 12 2" diameter rounds. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Makes 12 biscuits.
