Homemade Kidney Bean Burgers

Ingredients
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed1/2 cup ground flaxseed2 tbsp bread crumbs1 eggItalian seasoning to tasteGarlic powder to tastehot sauce or salsa to taste (I used a thin medium hot salsa by Hotcha) 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil4 whole wheat hamburger buns (I love Oroweat Thin Hamburger Buns) **NOTE: these calories are NOT included
Directions
Put beans in a large bowl and mash well with a fork. Add egg, flaxseed, bread crumbs, seasoning, garlic powder, and hot sauce (or salsa). Mix well to combine then shape into 4 patties.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange patties in a single layer and cook, flipping once, until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes total. Transfer to buns, top with your choice of toppings, and serve.
