Chocolate Sheet Cake

Ingredients
Cake: 2 cups sugar 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 sticks margarine 4 TBSP cocoa 1 cup water1/2 cup milk1 tsp. vanilla2eggs1 tsp. baking sodaFrosting:4 TBSP margarine2 TBSP cocoa3 TBSP milk1/2 tsp. vanilla2 cups powdered sugar
Directions
preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cake:
mix sugar, flour, and salt in a bowl. set aside. in pan over medium heat, melt margarine and then bring to a boil with cocoa and water. add to bowl mixture. add the remaining ingredients.( milk, vanilla, baking soda, eggs) pour entire mixture into greased sheet pan approx. 10 x 15. bake 20- 25 minutes.

Frosting:
Boil margarine, cocoa, and milk. Add powdered sugar and mix until thick. Add vanilla and frost HOT cake.

    This is almost exactly like my mother's recipe!! We halve the margarine in the cake and double it in the frosting. Just made it today by special request for my daughter's birthday treats at school. It's the BEST! SO rich and moist, and can be cut into tiny servings if you want. - 3/22/13

    This is just about identical to one my mother-in-law introduced me to years ago, and it's been a family favorite ever since! We add nuts to part of the icing and leave part plain for non-nut-lovers. - 7/14/09
