Spaghetti and cheese-stuffed meatballs

Ingredients
1 lb extra lean ground beef.5 cups panko breadcrumbs1 large egg2 tbsp italian seasoning, divided 2 reduced fat mozarella string cheese sticks, cut into 12 pieces2.5 c tomato sauce1 can diced tomatoes with garlic, basil and oregano1/4 c diced onion2 tsp garlic1 tbsp oregano1/2 c chicken broth6 oz uncooked angel hair pasta
Directions
1. mix the first 3 ingredients and 1 tbsp of italian seasoning. Taking a piece of the cheese, form the meat mixture into meatballs around the cheese. This should make a total of 12 meatballs.
2. combine remaining italian seasoning with following 6 ingredients in a large pan on medium heat. Place uncooked meatballs in sauce. Cover and simmer on medium for 20 minutes or until hamburger is no longer pink.
3. meanwhile, cook pasta per package instructions omitting salt and fat.
4. pour meatballs and sauce over pasta. serve

serving is 2 meatballs and 2 cup of pasta.

    All of the meatballs held their cheese but one did lose some of it. I felt this recipe was great except the sauce was missing something as a spice. Very easy recipe. I would make this again. I think it was the garlic. Needed more garlic. I also think this would be a great crockpot recipe. - 3/20/12
