This sounds sooo good but I can't make it. Not that I have any allergies or don't have the tools. I LOVE NUTELLA! I buy it for my son under the condition he hides it well in his room. If I make this, I'll eat it all. I HAVE NO CONTROL somedays. Maybe I'll use 10 chocolate chips and 10 almonds. - 2/7/11

My husband has a Nutella thing, too. Try Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter, delicious, not as sweet as Nutella or this recipe and healthier. (Definitely a relative term.) Both are trigger foods for me, however, and cooking this recipe would be Death by Nibbles. Do try to Justin's to avoid this! - 11/17/11

Delicious! I put a few blobs in the freezer to see how it would do as a candy substitute (that's how good it is!) and if it works, i'll use a candy mold next time. I doubled the recipe and used darker chocolate (60% chips) and will probably half the chocolate next time. Amazing! - 2/21/11

I'm curious how well this holds up in the fridge. Would you say it will expire after some time, or can it be refrigerated for a long period of time and stay good? Thanks for sharing the recipe. I also love Nutella - it's like frosting to me - but it's TOO good that I'll binge on it. - 2/7/11

Interesting, but 1 TBSP Nutella has 100 calories, 5.5 grams fat, 1.8 grams saturated fat, 8 grams sodium, 11 grams of carbohydrates, 0.5 grams fiber, and 1.5 grams protein. So, I don't see where this recipe is better than the original. Nutella's website says there's no hydrogenated oils.

This recipe conveniently forgets to list sugar and saturated fat. Tollhouse Semisweet Chips have 8g of sugar & 2.5g saturated fat in EACH 1 Tbsp. The calorie count is EXACTLY the same as for Nutella (1 Tbsp=100 calories). No wonderful health benefits here. Shame on you for omitting data. - 9/6/12

Mix this with some granola (1/3 ratio butter to granola) and drop golf ball sized mounds on some wax or parchment paper. Throw it in the fridge for about 5-10 minutes and you have a yummy grab and go snack. I sometimes toss in some shredded coconut to make it like haystack cookies. Super yummy! - 2/20/12

I made this with pecans and ghiradelli, because it's what I had. It's dangerously tempting! It's gritty like natural nut butter but didn't need oil; Just be patient with the food processor. I want to put it on waffles, toast, pears, ice cream, and in a latte. I'm excited to try it on everything! - 2/8/11
