Chick Pea Pattie of Yumminess w/ Sauce by Zwie

Ingredients
For the Sauce:1/3 cup Ricotta Cheese 2 TBSP Greek or Plain Yogurt1 Small Red/White OnionCucumber/Pepper (Optional)For the Patties:2 Cans Drained Chick Peaks1 Egg1 tsp Chili Powder1 tsp curry powder1 tsp cumin2 tsp Panko Bread Crumbs ( with 1/4c left to dredge patties)1 Stalk Celery, especially use the leaves!Pepper to taste
Directions
Preset Broiler to high while mixing ingredients.

Combine 2 cans drained Chick Peas, celery bits (or parsley), chili powder, curry powder, cumin and softly mash the mixture. You can can do this by using a drinking glass if you do not own a potato masher.

Once the mixture is mashed stir in 1 egg and 2 tbsp of Panko Bread Crumbs (the kind with jalapeno makes it super awesome but in this one I used Italian).

Ball the mixture into patties, I usually get about 5 and dredge them through the remaining crumbs to get a good coating. Place patties on a lightly greased cooking sheet and place under the broiler for 5-7 minutes on each side or until brown and crispy.

Now it's time to mix the sauce!

Place 1/3c Ricotta Cheese (you can use skim but I used whole), 2 tbsp greek or plain yogurt, 1 small onion (your choice of color), and a cumber or some pepper if you'd like into a blender or food processor and blend into a medium thick sauce.


Place sauce on top of patties when served. My husband likes them on hamburger buns, I go sans bread but could see the advantage. Also, I think I may try some diced tomato on top next time.
