It was the first recipe the my wife made for us out of the Sparkpeople Cook book. I was sooo good. We both agree it's a keeper! - 1/17/12

To use cooked lentils is wrong. They would be mush. Use uncooked. - 1/3/13

Chef Meg's video shows 4 hours on HIGH, but the recipe says 4 hours on low. I followed the recipe and didn't have a meal for my family because the lentils were still hard. We also think it needs some salt. I think it will be better once the lentils are fully cooked and we add some salt. - 9/10/12

Question regarding the 1 cup of lentils:
Is that 1 cup of dry lentils? Or do you have to soak them first? - 1/18/12

How much is a serving? A cup? I really don't want to have to measure out the whole recipe just to find out. Wish this information was included, it looks like a good recipe otherwise. - 11/4/13

It does need to cook longer than 4 hours. It has a good taste to it. Going to serve an apple- turkey burger with it plus a small side salad to finish out the meal. - 9/22/13

Not big soup eaters, having one meal is sufficient and since there are only two of us this would be too much. Could I half everything and then would it cook half the time? - 7/26/13

This was very good. I changed two things, added some salt and I had to cook it longer. It took longer than 4 hours on high in my crockpot (which is normally fine with recipes), so I'd plan for about another hour. Also different colors of lentils have different cooking times so watch out for that. - 9/20/12

I've made this -- the first Sparkpeople recipe I've tried and the first time I've cooked lentils. Are the lentils supposed to soften up? Mine haven't, but the flavor is really nice. I also like PeaceNonny's idea of replacing some of the carrots with corn. - 9/2/12

This truley is a lifesaver! My co-worker brought in two boxes of doughnuts and pastries. Thank goodness I had a cup of what I call Lucious Lentil soup and it saved the day for me. - 5/15/12
