1.5 cups dry chickpeas (garbanzos)2.5 cups waterUse either long or quick soak methods for preparing the beans.2 Tbsp. Sunflower Oil.5 tsp mustard seeds1 Ripe tomato, diced/chopped into 1/2 in pieces1 tsp curry powder, mild2 Tbsp sesame seeds1 tsp sea salt1 tsp ground coriander seed.5 tsp tumeric
Makes 6-7 servings (calorie calculations are for 6)
Prepare your beans. pressure cooker, long soak or quick soak, all acceptable. You want the beans VERY SOFT before adding them to the tasty bit.
In heavy skillet, heat oil. Ad mustard seeds when warm and heat til they start popping. Add tomato and curry powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add sesame seeds, chickpeas, coriander and turmeric. Cook for 2-3 more minutes.
Good with rice and Chappatis bread.
