Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls Casserole

1 lb. Extra lean ground beef3/4 cup brown rice1/4 cup chopped onion1/2 head cabbage chopped2 cups diet ginger ale1/2 cup ketchup8oz. tomato sauce1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp pepper1/2 tsp Italian seasoning.
Brown ground beef & onion until done. Add seasonings.
Chop cabbage put 1/2 cabbage in a 9X13 baking dish.
Mix the rice with ground beef put on top of the cabbage. Put the other half of cabbage on top.
Mix the ginger ale, ketchup, & tomato sauce. Pour over the top.
Cover with foil bake at 350 for 11/2 to 2 hours or until rice is done.
Serving Size: Makes 8 1- cup servings
