Ingredients
Directions
1 lb. ground turkey (85/15 or lower fat)2 cans Bush's Chili Beans1/2 cup chili powder1/2 cup chopped onions1 can tomato sauce (regular can size)dash of parsley, drieddash of cilantro, dried
Brown ground turkey (adding NO oil) in a skillet. While browning, add a dash of the chili powder, chopped onions, parsley, cilantro, and any other spices you wish to add (garlic, etc. make good additions). Once ground turkey is browned, add to chili pot to cook. Add 2 cans of Bush's Chili beans, remaining chili powder, and tomato sauce. Add 2 cans of water (could use the bean cans to get the remaining spices out). Allow chili to simmer for 2-3 hours covered, stirring occasionally. I typically add more chili powder and spices throughout the simmering as my family likes the chili hot! Other great additions would be to add chopped jalapenos, chili peppers, and chives. In the final 30 minutes of cook time, remove the lid to allow steam to escape and the chili to thicken. Once simmering is complete, allow chili to sit 10-15 minutes before serving to allow sauce to thicken even more.
