Crockpot Bolognase sauce

Ingredients
2 tsp olive oil 1 cup onion(s), chopped 1 Tbsp minced garlic 3/4 pound uncooked lean ground beef (with 7% fat) 1 1/2 tsp fennel seed 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes, fire-roasted recommended 2 c cherry tomatoes(optional)1/4 tsp table salt 1/4 tsp pepper1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp dried oregano
Directions
heat olive oil in large skillet, add onions and garlic when hot, saute approz 5 minutes. Add ground beef and season mixtures with salt, pepper, fennel, red pepper flakes and oregano. Brown meat. Add extra red pepper for a little more kick.

Transfer mixture to crockpot, adding in the crushed and cherry tomatoes. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Serve over whole wheat pasta.
