Baked Lentils with Cheese

Ingredients
1 3/4 cup dried lentils, rinsed1 whole bay leaf1/4 tsp pepper1 tsp salt1/8 tsp each marjoram, sage, thyme2 large onions, chopped2 cups canned tomatoes or 15 oz can of tomato sauce2 cups water2 cloves garlic, minced.3-4 large carrots, sliced1 cup thinly sliced celery1 green pepper, chopped2 tbsp finely chopped parsley1 1/2 cup low fat cheddar cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine ingredients in a 9x13 inch baking pan. Rinse lentils and mix with seasonings (except fresh parsley), onions, canned tomatoes, water and garlic. Cover tightly and bake for 30 minutes.

Uncover and stir in carrots and celery. Bake covered 40 more minutes. Then stir in green pepper and fresh parsley. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake for 5 more minutes.

    I think the calorie count is wrong on this recipe. Spark gives the calories for cooked lentils....the calories for 1 cup of raw lentils is 678 (not 224).
