Doesn't-taste-like-Diet Banana nut muffins (Kid-friendly directions)

Ingredients
1.5 cups whole wheat flour3/4 cup splenda (if using sugar, it adds about 60 calories and 15g to carbs)1/4 cup wheat germ3 large bananas, mashed1/4 cup Egg Beaters1/3 cup applesauce1 teaspoon of baking soda1 teaspoon of baking powder1/3 cup almond sliversGround cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, to taste (1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and nutmeg, and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cloves)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line muffins sheets with paper and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Peel, cut, and mash bananas (Let a kid do this, with a butter knife and a potato masher).

Add sugar, egg, and applesauce, mixing well between each ingredient (depending on age of child, let pour and/or mix).

Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowel (again, let kids pour or mix).

Pour banana mixture into dry ingredients, and mix till just combined (over mixing will make muffins to dense).

Fold in almonds.

Fill muffin liners 3/4 full.

Bake for 20 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
