Taco Filling

Ingredients
Directions
1 tbsp extra light olive oil1 med onion2 tsp chopped garlic1 lb extra lean ground beef2 cups cooked pinto beans1 cup tomato sauce1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste1 cup water1 tbsp taco seasoning (add more if you wish)
Saute' the onion and garlic in the olive oil.
Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink.
Add remaining ingredients and cook on low until sauce has thickened and flavors have melded.
Use in tacos, taco salad, taco pie, taco spuds...

This was the best taco filling I have ever tried. I used refried beans instead of the pinto beans. For the taco shells, I baked some corn tortillas for 5 minutes on each side at 350 F. This cut out a LOT of fat and calories! I'll be making these again and can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch! - 1/4/10

Made this for dinner tonight! Used Meg's Taco seasoning recipe as the taco seasoning for this. WOW! My hubby who does not like beans loved it and both my kids want to add this to the family regulars. Was not too spicey..... made A LOT! We served as hard tacos, with salsa and celery/carrots. - 12/30/09
