Ingredients
Directions
2 cups of spinach1/2 cup of blueberries (optional)1 banana (frozen or fresh) (I have found it comes out better if I freeze my bananas. To freeze, remove peel, cut banana into chunks - about 3 or 4, then put on a cookie sheet that has wax paper and put in freezer)1 cup of soymilk (I'm sure you can use dairy milk, however I prefer soy) 4-5 ice cubes
Add ingredients to the blender, with the spinach on the bottom. This is very important, b/c the spinach leaves tend to fly up in the blender as you blend.
Start on a low setting, then move up to a high setting. Blend for a good 1-2 minutes. That seems like a long time, but you want to make sure that you've fully blended the spinach. Nobody wants to suck a leaf up in their straw!!
Once this is all blended, add some ice cubes. Then set your blender to crush ice. Blend till the ice is crushed and the smoothie is thick.
Enjoy!!
Serving Size: makes about 16 ounces
