low fat crockpot black bean soup

2 cups black beans (2 cans)6 cups vegetable broth1/2 tsp. garlic powder1 Tbsp. chili powder1-2 jalapeño peppers, minced1 tsp. ground cumin1 tsp. cayenne pepper3/4 tsp. ground black pepperHot sauce, to taste1 Tbsp. cornstarchCilantro for garnish
1.) In a crock pot, combine the beans, jalapeños, broth, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, pepper, and hot sauce.
2.) Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours and then purée in a blender in 3 or 4 batches. Purée the last batch with the cornstarch.
3.) Return to the crock pot and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Adjust the seasonings as needed.
