Turkey Bacon, Mushroom, and Cheese Pizza (with Pizza Dough Recipe)

Ingredients
Pizza Dough---1T Yeast1c Warm Water1t Salt1T Honey (or sugar)2T Oil3c Flour1T Chili Powder (optional)1T Garlic Powder (optional to taste)Sauce---3/4c Ragu 1/4c Tomato Paste1t OrganoToppings---6 Slices Turkey Bacon (cooked and chopped)3oz Sliced White Mushrooms, Sauteed in 1t Butter2c Shredded Mozarella Cheese

Making the dough

Mix honey with warm water and sprinkle yeast over. Let stand 5-10 minutes. Add salt, oil, chili powder, and flour. Knead on a floured board for about 10 minutes. Shape into a ball, grease the ball lightly with oil, put into a bowl, and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise approximately one hour. Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Stretch or press dough into a pizza pan/onto a pizza stone, perforate with a fork, and bake for 10 minutes. Cover with sauce and toppings (see below).

Combine pasta sauce and tomato paste in a small pan over medium heat. Let thicken and add a dash of salt, chili powder, and oregano to taste.

Prepare bacon according to package directions and chop into ~1" squares. Add mushrooms and butter to the frying pan and sautee until soft.

Spoon sauce in the center of the pizza crust and spread to edges. Sprinkle chopped bacon and cooked mushrooms over sauce and cover with 2 cups of shredded mozarella cheese.

Bake an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and crust is slightly browned and crispy.

Serving Size: Makes a ~14" inch pizza (8 slices)
