Pumpkin Chili (Happy Herbivore)

1 onion, chopped4 cloves garlic, minced2 tbsp tomato paste2 tsp cumin1 tbsp chili powder1/2 c vegetable broth1/2 c canned pure pumpkin1/4 c chopped green chilies1 15-oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
In medium saucepan, saute onion and garlic in thin layer of water over med-high heat, until translucent. Add cumin and chili powder, and stir to coat. Let liquid evaporate out.
Add vegetable broth, tomato paste, green chilies and pumpkin. Stir to combine. Add beans and stir. Heat thoroughly and serve.
