Macaroni with a Mushroom Tomato Sauce

1 cup uncooked, dry macaroni1 tablespoon olive oil1 medium onion, sliced1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce4 oz sliced, fresh mushrooms
Cook macaroni in a pot of boiling water for about 15 minnutes.
In a saucepan, heat olive oil and cook onion until it has a golden color. Add mushrooms to the onions and continue cooking. Put heat on low and add in the tomato sauce. Add spices (salt, pepper, oregano, parsley, etc.) Bring to a slow boil. Turn off heat.
Drain macaroni and add to the sauce.
Makes 3 1/2 cups or (3 1/2 servings).
For me, I considered a serving to be one cup.
Note: one cup was measured with a mug of tea
