1 lb ground chicken1 lb ground turkey (85% lean)2 cans Gia Russa Sloppy Joe sauce1 can Gia Russa tomato sauce1 cup finely chopped onion2 tbsp Open Pit Honey BBQ sauce2 tbsp Heinz Simply Heinz tomato ketchup1 tbsp light brown sugar1 tsp finely ground sea salt1 tsp ground black pepper1/2 tsp ground red pepper1/2 tsp onion powder2 tbsp canola oil for sauteing meat
1) Heat canola oil in large pot. Crumble ground chicken and turkey into pan along with chopped onion, sea salt, black and red pepper and onion powder. Saute until meat is browned and onions are translucent.
2) Remove from heat and stir in Sloppy Joe sauce, tomato sauce, BBQ, ketchup and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, cover, lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
3) During the last 15 minutes, remove lid, taste test for seasoning and allow to reduce down to desired thickness. Adjust seasoning according to preferred taste. Serve on sandwich rolls.
