Mint Julep

Ingredients
2 c. sugar2 c. waterfresh mintCrushed iceKentucky Bourbon
Directions
Make syrup by combining sugar and water in pot and boiling for 5 minutes. Allow to cool.

Bruise 6-8 sprigs of mint leaves with a muddler or the back of a spoon, and pour syrup mixture over mint leaves. Cover mixture and refrigerate overnight.

Fill julep cups (preferably silver) with ice, top with one ounce syrup mix, 2 ounces bourbon. Stir ingredients together and top with mint leaf, if desired.
