This is German granma's recipe: old country. Even th'eggshell. Real deal. Amt of water might vary w/ humidity & altitude. P.S. I made again 1/19/11. Comfort food. Only made this amount 2 control portions & drying on a tea towel, the way Grandma did. Can dry for later use. - 10/15/10

These are easy to make. I make them and dry them, put in sealed container and give as gifts. Made some with rosemary, garlic, and other fresh herbs. Everyone need to start making these. Get the kids involved. - 7/26/09

Wow, I'm going to try this! is it self-rising flour or just the all purpose flour? - 9/28/09

My mother would make these for special dinners when I was a child. She allowed them to dry for about 12-hours and then boiled them in beef or chicken broth. When done, the flour on and in the noodles made their own gravy. Great recipe!! - 11/9/13

I stare w/water, add egg, beat, then whisk in the flour. Works easier for me.... To the person who said "a cup of flour isn't healthy for anyone" this recipe as written serves 5 so it would only be one fifth of a cup of four per person.... And if it you do't like the recipe, pass it by, dont commet - 7/19/14

I made these with Ener-G egg replacer to make them vegan. I like my noodles wide so I cut them 1/2 inch by 2 inch. I put them in a veggie version of my grandmother's Lancaster Pot Pie (not a pie but a thick soup with lots of homemade noodles). - 11/9/13

My grandma also used the egg shell to measure, she used milk instead of water, though - 3/1/10

This is almost the same as my grandma's. Difference, it just said use an an egg. Measure the flour weth the pink coffee cup. She also let it dry a few hours, sometimes over night. Then fold over in thirds. When drier, slice. - 1/13/15

These make excellent noodles. The measuring your Grandmother used is the one I learned on, and still use. I love that you entered it in that way. - 12/20/14

Very tasty, a dumpling style noodle which is impossible to find but tastes the best. I did have to add another 1/4 cup of water just to be able to make a dough but still absolutely great recipe - 6/3/09
