Ingredients
3 small to medium Haas (California) avocados, ripe1/4 cup finely chopped white or yellow onion1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped, with or without seeds2 cloves garlic, minced1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped (with stems)Kosher salt to tasteJuice of 1/2 to 1 lime, depending on amount
Directions
Halve and peel the avocados and mash with a fork. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover and let set for up to an hour for flavors to blend. If left uncovered, the mixture will turn dark quickly. Use as a dip with crudites or chips or as a topping for toast or as a scoop of a side with Mexican dishes.
