6 cup Pillsbury Best Bread Flour (by NIKKI1026) 1.75 cup Milk, nonfat (skim milk) 1 serving Active Yeast 1 packet (Fleishman's) (by CD3370322) 0.33 cup Butter, salted .25 cup Granulated Sugar 1 tbsp Salt
scald the milk, put in the butter and let cool a bit. dissolve yeast in 1/4 warm water. combine sugar, salt, milk and butter and stir until it is dissolved in large bowl. add yeast water and blend. Add 3 c flour and beat until smooth. stir in remaining flour and turn out on a lightly floured board. knead until smooth and shape into a ball, replace into buttered bowl and turn over to grease all sides. cover with a damp towel and let rise until double in size. punch down dough, turn out on lightly floured board and divide into 2 pieces. shape into 2 loaves, place in greased loaf plans and let rise until the center of the bread is slightly higher than edges of the pans, about 45 min. bake in 375 F oven for about 45 minutes, loaves should sound hollow when tapped and be well browned.
