I have never made kimchi but with a Korean son-in-law I have had it many times. I buy mine at a local Korean store. It is awesome but I think I will try to make my own in the future..BTW, kimchi is fermented cabbage. - 1/7/12

do you know if the benefits of the kimchi goes away, if it is heated? The benefit is to get good bacteria, into the body.
2 Tablespoons daily will help do this. I will post a recipe - 1/7/12

Kimchi is the Korean version of sauerkraut. It is very hot if it's a good recipe. Some prepared products have too much sweetener and additives, though. - 1/7/12

You don't say what kimchi even is. I love trying foods from different cultures but I have no idea where to get it. While this looks low calorie for 1/2 cup serving the sodium count is either erroneous or it would be way too salty to eat? HELP! - 1/7/12
