Ingredients
Directions
7 cups great northern beans 1 16 oz package turkey ham1 cup onion2 tbsp salt1 tsp black pepper1 tbsp minced garlic8 cups water
Put 4 cups uncooked beans into 8 cups water, and bring to boil on stove... let beans boil for about 5 minutes.
Pour beans and water into crock pot.
Add ham, (I use turkey ham which cuts down on fat).
Add onions, salt, pepper, and garlic.
Stir all together, and set crock pot to low cook, for at least 6 - 8 hours, stir occasionally.
If the beans appear to go dry, stir in 1 cup water as needed. Beans should be soupy, but not too much, although you can adjust the soupy to liking.
Makes 10 - 1 cup servings
