Ingredients
2- medium sized bananas - almost too ripe
Directions
Cut peeled bananas in 2 inch chunks and place in freezer bag. Seal and allow to freeze for at least 24 hours.
Remove from freezer, set on counter for 10-15 minutes and then whiz in food processor until smooth. I added a little vanilla.
Tastes like soft-serve ice cream!

I made this & fed my husband some & he said, "Wow, that's great! Where'd you get it?" When I told him what it was, he was surprised. I try to get the over-ripe bags of bananas for $1 and immediately chop & freeze! Much cheaper than ice cream and so much better for us! - 8/30/09

I make this all the time. Try soaking a medjool date in warm water for about 30 min. Then add the date and some of the date soaking water to the bananas. I also add about three frozen strawberries, vanilla and a dash of sea salt. Fab! - 3/1/10

I really enjoyed this! Next time I'll remember to peel the over ripe bananas before freezing them. I'm not the best in the kitchen... still, this recipe came out very nicely and next time I will try to add nuts and maybe a little peanbut butter. - 7/7/10

I put the bananas directly in the freezer - after washing. When I am ready I pop one in the microwave for 30 secs peel and add, I also add a little vanilla stevia and frozen blueberries. Excellent! - 1/30/10

This was an awesome recipe! I added some frozen strawberries. I didn't wait for this to thaw out a little so it was tough to blend - I'll let it sit for 15 minutes next time. This is going in my favorites! Wonderful & healthy alternative to milk ice cream! - 6/3/12

The texture is just like soft serve ice cream! Everyone suggested overripe bananas and we just didn't like that flavor. I will definitely try again with less ripe bananas and maybe add some strawberries as others have done. It was easy and did seem like eating ice cream. - 11/2/11

What a great option for a sweet treat that isn't full of sugars and preservatives. I didn't let my bananas thaw enough so I had to add a little milk to get it moving. I can't wait to try this with other fruits, peanut butter or even a bit of chocolate :) I'm sharing this with so many people. - 9/18/11

Shared it with the hub. Yummy. Don't freak out cause the banana got a bit discolored, it whips away. - 7/17/11

My comment involves the nutritional information provided. The recipe calls for two bananas. It says that the recipe makes two servings. That would mean that one serving would actually be one whole banana, but the nutritional data seems to be based on a serving size of one half banana. Correct? - 7/12/11

YUM!! I've added frozen strawberries, chocolate syrup, or peanut butter. Endless possibilities :) - 4/4/11

I will never miss ice cream again! This is delicious and great for those of us who are lactose intolerant. I did not thaw slice bananas at all, but added about 1/3 C. vanilla soymilk and a dash of vanilla. Delish! - 7/22/10

made it last night...AWESOME! I added a little milk b/c I was using a blender instead of a food processor so I had to help it a little, a lil coconut, vanilla and cinnamon. To make sure I kept it healthy I used skim milk, just a bit of coconut and if it needed more flavor I just added cinnamon. - 11/3/09

What a refreshing treat! Ice cream with no guilt. I now have a freezer full of frozen bananas! For us impatient ones, you can also microwave the frozen bananas for 10 - 20 seconds before blending ;) - 11/7/08

What a brilliant idea! I'm all for fresh stuff and I guess as an alternative to vanilla one could add cinnamon or lemon zest for variety. - 11/3/08
