Authentic Alfredo + Pasta

Ingredients
Butter, unsalted, 1 cupHeavy Whipping Cream, 2 cup, fluid (yields 2 cups whipped)Parmesan Cheese, grated, 2 cupNutmeg, ground, .25 tspPepper, black, 1 tspSpaghetti, cooked (pasta), 6 cup
Directions
Melt the butter until fluid over a medium heat in a sauce pan. Lower heat to medium-low and wisk in the cream. Allow time for the mixture to heat and continue to whip while slowly adding the Parmesan cheese. Be careful not to overdue the cheese, you don't want your sauce to be "gritty", let the cheese melt. Add nutmeg and the pepper to taste.
Use any pasta you like, fettucine is traditional.
Also, I will generally serve this pasta dish with a grilled peice of chicken or shrimp, however there isn't much this wouldn't be good with.
