Ingredients
2 cups - Flour, white, 2 cup 2 cups - Quaker Oats 100% Natural Whole Grain oatmeal1.5 cups packed - Brown Sugar1 tsp - Baking Soda0.5 tsp - Salt1.5 cups - Margarine, soft or melted--------------1.5 cups - Caramel topping6 tsp - Flour, white1-12 oz. bag - Nestles Chocolate Chips0.5 cup - Almonds, sliced (optional)
Directions
Mix all ingredients (before the line) except for the margarine together in a bowl. Then add the melted margarine. This mixture will make the bottom crust and top crumbles.

Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 pan (for thinner bars) or a smaller 8x11 pan for thicker bars. Cook the crust for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Mix 6 tsp. of flour with the Caramel topping.

Remove the crust, add chocolate chips, caramel mix, and optionally the nuts and top it off with crumbles from the crust mix. Cook for an additional 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.

    These are in my top three favorite bar cookies, but only for special occasions, obviously. 😉 I like chopped pecans or walnuts the best and use real butter and Sander's Classic Caramel topping. - 6/3/17
