chickpea & tomato soup

Ingredients
1kg chickpeas4 tbs olive oil1 onion, diced3 garlic cloves, finely cut1 tsp chilipowder(1 tbs ginger)2 200g cans of crushed tomatoes2 tbs honey(1 tbs ginger)Salt and black pepper
Directions
Rinse, and soak chickpeas overnight (at least 8 hours).
Rinse chickpeas again, and boil them in a new water for 1 hour (requires water twice the amount of chickpeas) with a little salt.

Dice the onion and cut the garlic.
Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the onion and garlic. Add chili and ginger (if desired). Mix thoroughly.
Add crushed tomatoes and let simmer at a low temperature for about 15 minutes.
Add chickpeas, honey and salt & black pepper to taste.
