I make this all the time without even browning the chops first! (Saves a little time) I also try to use reduced fat or low sodium soups when I can find them! - 1/7/09

I think the browning makes the chops look more appetizing, giving them some color. When I didn't brown them first, they looked awfully pink and not very appetizing. Doesn't make a difference in the taste though.

Very good! I added canned mushrooms and chopped purple onion. Served over boil-in-bag brown rice. - 2/15/12

I have made this for years with a few variations. Instead of boneless chops, I use bone in, instead of regular cream of mushroom soup, I use golden mushroom, and I add onion. I also brown the chops. My family loves the golden mushroom soup, you'll have to try it. I make it stove top, as well. - 7/15/17

These were great and very easy to make. My husband didn't leave any leftovers, so I know it was a winner. - 2/10/16

I dredged the pork before browning with a bit of flour coating and then in addition to the soup, I put in some milk. They came out so delicious and beyond tender. I also added in some thyme seasoning. - 12/21/13

mmmmmmmmmmmm. Hubby asked for seconds and he hates pork chops. I omitted the water by accident, but was great. served with brown rice tonight, but I think we will have the leftovers over egg noodles tomorrow. tender and delicious. will definitely make again! - 3/6/12

I am making this now...but I must admit...I didn't know what to do with the water. Can anyone help me for the next time I make it. I just added it to the end on top of everything and it looks like it is just going to sit there :-) Should I mix it first with one of the soups? - 2/22/11

its awesome!! I made some changes on it though. Brown sliced garlic and shallots after browning the chops. Put new potatoes & pumpkins at the bottom, chops, garlic & shallots and some brussel sprouts on top. Lastly, one can of cream of mushroom. - 12/15/10

Very good & super easy. Seasoned the chops with pepper & garlic powder before browning. Didn't bother with the water & had plenty of sauce/gravy. Served over long grain & wild rice. Family loved it! - 11/7/10

What a lot of sodium per serving. I'm sure we can get that down. :) - 3/7/10

We LOVE this recipe with mashed potatoes for the gravy! I used 2 cans cream of mushroom soup with no water and seasoned the chops with Adobo when I browned them...never thought of doing this in a crock pot, thanks for the GREAT idea:) - 1/26/10

This recipe was lacking a bit of information. When is the water to be added? I knew, but someone else may not know. I used just a can of mushroom and a teaspoon of brown gravy mix. I had only wafer thin pork chops, so I baked this in the convection oven. I did not use cream of chicken at all. - 11/17/09

I am putting this one in my crockpot in the morning before work, sounds yummy - 8/23/09

Thank you, this was very good. I doubled everything but I used 3 COM & 1 COC. I deglazed the pan that I browned the chops in with the water, then I strained it into the crockpot for added flavor. I also added Kitchen Bouquet to darken the gravy. I have never cooked chops like this before. Thanks - 8/9/09

Awesome! My biggest complaint would be that everything fell off the bone- making it hard to dole out portions- but that isn't entirely bad! Mmmmm! Even my husband who is against the cream of anything bases liked it (he just didn't have any gravy). - 7/22/09

This is a dish I have prepared for years. I never brown the pork chops and I've never added water. I will follow this recipe for the nutritional info !! It is awesome !! - 3/8/09

This is great! We did 1 COM, 1 COC soup plus 1 packet of the dry onion soup mix, and we threw in 2 pork chops (browned first). And it was sooo good. We then made Zatarans Rice Pilaf to go with it. - 2/28/09

You know what, this was supposed to say 1 can of cream of chicken and 1 can of cream of mushroom. I'll have to fix that.
